Bilcare’s nonClonableID™ technology successfully executed worldwide

New Delhi: Bilcare Technologies, a research and technology leader focused on creating next-generation anti-counterfeiting, security and brand protection solutions, announced successful execution of its nonClonableID™ technology for the Security, Pharma and Agro-chemical sectors.

At a function held in Delhi on 19th July 2010, Dr. Sam Pitroda (Adviser to Prime Minister of India in Public Information, Infrastructure and Innovation) and Dr. R. Chidambaram (Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India) handed over the technology-embedded products to the company executives of leading organizations, namely Ranbaxy, Panacea Biotec and Mankind in the Pharma and Indofil in the Agro-chemical sectors. Identity cards using the technology will also be used by the Delhi Police during the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

During the event, TCIL signed a business memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bilcare Ltd. and Dr. Pitroda presented the MoU to Mr. R.K Upadhyay, CMD - TCIL and Mr. Mohan Bhandari, CMD - Bilcare Ltd.  The alliance will address the diverse needs of security more particularly in Government related projects within and outside of India, TCIL said.

Dr. R Chidambaram stated, “Security is a big issue today. As it happened during 26/11, the top priority is to prevent the penetration of unwanted elements”. On the use of the technology in identity cards during the Commonwealth Games, Rajan Bhagat, Delhi Police spokesperson said, “These are biometric cards with the details of the person embedded in the chip. The biggest benefit of this card is that we can find out the exact details of the personnel’s place of duty. It rules out any misuse of the card”.

Mr. Mohan Bhandari, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, Bilcare Limited said "I feel excited about the potential of this great innovation and firmly believe that we finally have a weapon to fight the challenges of counterfeit menace and give brand owners the security they need, which will not only enhance their sales and profit margins but will also provide consumers the peace
of mind".

The global counterfeit market is estimated to be approximately USD 500 billion. Bilcare sees its technology as the answer to this worldwide problem and has already started executing projects using the nonClonableID™ technology, including in auto component manufacture factories and museums that are home to valuable art collections.

Himanshu Bhatt, Global Sales Director for Physical Meets Digital Software Solutions Sales for IBM said, “The need to address challenges like tracking and tracing products, enhancing supply chain efficiency and traceability, thwarting grey markets and managing product recalls for instilling confidence in customers are becoming increasingly important. Bilcare’s nonClonableID™ solution promises to enhance the value for the customer by effectively addressing these needs”.

While most generic anti-counterfeiting technologies can be breached eventually, Bilcare's nonClonableID™ fingerprints cannot be copied as the organization itself cannot duplicate them. The unique ability of nonClonableID™ to enable convincing product authentication on a real-time, anytime-anywhere basis along with complete securitization of the supply chain makes it applicable across diverse sectors.
